Effective porosity

Effective porosity is defined as the percentage of inter connected pore space; it is less than total porosity. Although the volume of contained in an aquifer is of interest, of more concern is how much water can actually be released from storage, per unit area of aquifer and per unit change in total head.

Porosity represents the volume of water that an aquifer can hold, but it does not indicate how much water the aquifer can yield

Take an example of a sponge below;

If you were to soak two cups of water in a sponge, evenif you squeeze with a machine, you will never be able to get out two cups of water exactly

The Irony of Life

Tomorrow, we will be heading to Iganga, Bulanga to escort my true friend Watanda Adruf to his final resting place.

He has fought a good race and I believe that we will meet him and celebrate eternity together when our day comes.

A few months ago, I had to meet with him but foxed at the last moment and he only got to meet Peter. We should maybe have gone for coffee or a drink but we didn't.

Often times, we tend to think that time is always there for us to BE, DO and HAVE all that we have set out minds too. The fact is; it isn't there and we ought to cherish the moments.

The ONLY person who had a dream of transforming the IT industry of this World has gone to join his mom and Dad who are long gone and this should be a lesson to the rest of us.

Stop pretending that you are alone in this world. Go meet your friends, have fun, read your Bible and pray everyday.
